For the 'kiss of love' or even animal welfare.
I never saw someone get out there to mourn for a soldier,
Or even say they care.
I realised I'm no different,
It's just in our head,
We think it's their job to serve us all,
Whether alive or dead.
When I look at their corpses,
I feel weak in my knee,
Is all their martyrdom,
Just worth a discussion over tea?
They don't care whether we do,
They don't expect much from the ones they serve,
But it makes me think deep within,
Is this all that hey deserve?
I heard one soldiers father say,
'Desh ki seva ki hain, fakr hain mujhe uspe' he cried,
I dropped a tear and wondered there,
The soldier served, but it was me who died.
I don't know if this counts,
But I'll do my bit to respect you sir,
I will salute you at first sight,
Will share your struggle, your selfless stir.
I think we all can do our bit to let them know,
No matter where they are, however far,
They're the ones we look up to,
They are the real superstar.
Jai hind. Jai jawaan.
